  • For 6 months, Cap Haitien will serve as Caribbean base of the DredLok Plug Global Loc Cultural Tour! We will live, build, and create here as we welcome ambassadors, partners, loc artists, and educators to the registry. We are ready to share the stories of the artists, the communities, and the traditions of the people of the Caribbean with respect & excellence.

  • We will be welcoming our audience through to experience Haiti first-hand through our travels while we explore the island’s beauty, hospitality, art, fashion, food, history, and communities!   • As we fulfill the first stop of the Global Loc Tour, we envision a gathering where all Dredlok Plug members, ambassadors, & partners are invited for a weekend of celebration in Okap, Haiti!

Meet Lovena! She is our Haitian Ambassador & newly found crochet loc artist building Locs by Love - a hair studio that will empower women & men in their loc journeys opening January 2027!

Your support will help to equip her space with the tools, supplies, and the start-up equipment needed to serve her community, while creating lasting change in Okap, Haiti.

  • From Education to Artistry. From Opportunity to Legacy.

    Lovena’s story begins at Sonlight, an American mission-based Christian school where she received her education and later returned to serve as a teacher.

    Seeking greater opportunity, she eventually moved to OKAP. There, while wearing locs herself, she began to notice something missing: people in her community needed access to skilled, consistent loc care.

    That need became direction.

    Lovena began learning the craft through mentorship, developing her skills as a crochet loc artist and discovering a new way to serve the people around her.

    Today, she is building Locs By Love—a business rooted in care, skill, independence, and possibility. For Lovena, this is a project that supports her future while creating income through her own hands, & meeting a need in her community of OKAP!
